VIDEO: B-to-B editorial honored at 2013 Neal Awards ceremony



March 13, 2013 -- More than 300 b-to-b media professionals converged yesterday to celebrate editorial excellence at ABM’s 59th annual Jesse H. Neal Awards. Established in 1955, the Jesse H. Neal Awards, named after ABM's first managing director, recognize and reward the best of the best in business journalism. At the ceremony, held at Pier Sixty in New York City, winners were crowned in 20 categories, ranging from best article to best website to best use of video.

“It’s really rewarding that people notice we try hard,” said Mitch Rouda, president of e-media for Farm Journal Media. Farm Journal Media took home five awards.

“Outside of being recognized by our readers, being recognized by our peers is just about the best thing that could happen to us,” said Susan Hassler, editor in chief of IEEE Spectrum, which took home the Grand Neal Award for its article “A Shocking Truth.”

This year, 52 ABM companies submitted a total of 640 entries. The 2013 winners are:

About the Neal Awards
The Neal Awards are broken up into four different classes:
Class A is for brands with less than $3 million in gross advertising/circulation revenue.
Class B is for brands with $3 to $7 million in gross advertising/circulation revenue.
Class C is for brands with more than $3 million in gross advertising/circulation revenue. 
Class D indicates categories with no revenue breakdown required.
