High Plains Journal premieres digital edition delivered day earlier
Nov. 19, 2012 -- High Plains Journal, which is distributed to farms and ranches every Saturday, has launched a digital edition with an earlier Friday afternoon delivery. The digital version, available in five editions (Western Kansas, Eastern Kansas, Western Plains, Southern Plains and Midwest Ag Journal) is a reproduction of the print issue and is delivered to email inboxes. An iPad version is being developed.
In addition to enhanced content, including live links in ads and video content, the digital edition aims to cater to its subscribers in rural areas who might be dealing with post office closing and restructuring of postal processing centers.
"Our subscriber base is primarily rural, and we understand that getting our product directly to the doors of our subscribers on Saturday has become more of a challenge," Publisher Tom Taylor said in a statement. "Delivering our product digitally eliminates those postal issues that are out of our control."
Print subscribers can add on the digital edition for $10 per year. The digital version is also available as a stand-alone for $54 per year.
